abstract

Hi bloggers,

On this occasion you will have to write an abstarct in English. But this will be done in three stages:
1st, write an outline. To do this, follow the instructions in the presentation in U-cursos (abstract writing). This is to be done in the lab.
2nd, after reading the teacher's indicatioons and comments, write Draft 1 (from home). If this is good enough, you will be given a mark and will not need to write another.
3rd: one more time, read the teacher's comments and correct your draft; publish a new draft in your blog, which will be the final version. This will have a mark.

It is NOT necessary to do a long research to write the abstract; use the SAME information you used for your presentation. All you need to do is give it a different format.

Enjoy your writing.

Web quest 1

Hi Kine/Nursing bloggers.

As you know, one of the most common tasks for a university student in the medical area is to read scientific articles and papers. For this reason, on this occasion you will have to use the uchile library. Follow these steps as you do so:

1)go to med.uchile.cl, biblioteca, links to help and materials, or you may use google scholar.
2)Find a list of 2 articles that interest you and that have something relevant to your field, with different styles of abstracts.
3)Compare and comment the abstracts and the article in general. Include the links to the articles.

Remember you should use a more FORMAL tone in your blog entries; this is an academic activity monitored to help you improve your academic/scientific writing in English!

Enjoy the task.
